New Girls'Biz group forming September 20232022-2023 HYBRID GIRLS’BIZ PROGRAM The Dreamcatchers GIRLS’BIZ is a program for middle school girls that empowers the girls to start and run their own group business with the help of a team of experienced women business owners. The program runs from September through spring. The girls meet by zoom and sell products in their on-line store. They also sell at in-person sales events. Each year the girls choose a company name, develop their logo and chose their products. They learn about in-person and on-line sales, sales presentations and assembling and shipping orders. They learn about wholesale, retail, and how to determine their profit! Each year the girls research charities, give a short presentation about the several charities, discuss and vote on the charity which will receive part of their profit. In this way the girls learn the power of philanthropy. The remaining profit is divided among the girls. Recent charities are F.O.S.T.E.R. of Dane County and the Dane County Humane Society. GIRLS’BIZ is open to any girl in middle school in Dane County. WWE-SC created the program in 1996 and has been running it successfully ever since!
